What is Telerehabilitation ?
Telerehabilitation (or e-rehabilitation) is the delivery of Physiotherapy rehabilitation services over telecommunication networks and the internet. Telerehabilitation also allows experts in rehabilitation to engage in a clinical consultation at a distance. Telerehabilitation can deliver therapy to people who cannot travel to a clinic because the patient has a disability or because of travel time or because of unfavorable circumstances.
Telerehabilitation is a new direction in restorative medicine. This method is based on the use of a home computer, a video camera, a game rehabilitation program prescribed by a doctor to a patient, virtual reality glasses, as well as special restorative exercises in the form of a game. Telerehabilitation is accompanied by remote guidance of the rehabilitation process. E-rehabilitation allows you to restore lost functions and skills, continuing the process of treating patients at home after being discharged from the hospital. This rehabilitative treatment model allows the patient and the doctor to maintain contact and coordinate rehabilitation.
